Its not anti Christian in the typical way. Instead it ignores or
laughs at the real message of Christianity; like faith, love,
monogamy, tolerance, and mercy. Instead it glorifies some of the
worst, most cruel things done in the name of the faith. Things like
Inquisitions, witch burnings, killing Pagans, Cathars, and the
Crusades. The "heroes" of the show lie, cheat, steal, and have sex
with anyone they can. In fact they are proud of all these deeds. The
thing that makes them "heroic" is their willingness to kill
supernatural entities that represent any non Christian beliefs. The
program is so intolerant that it actually encourages people to
withdraw from any Christian activities that might have their roots in
an earlier, Pagan time. Like Mistletoe or Christmas trees, which go
back to a time when man worshiped nature. Good luck with that, by the
way; MOST Christian traditions have a basis in earlier beliefs. Easter
based on the worship of the Fertility Goddess, Eoster, thats why the
bunnies, chickens and eggs...but so what? The whole point of
Christianity is not to revile the beliefs of others, past and present,
but to rejoice in the praise of our God. The demons in the show, and
they are some of the most evil demons you could get, are not fallen
angels. Nope. They are humans who did things like practice Wicca. So
much for the belief in redemption, I guess. Its just amazing how mean
spirited the writing of this show gets.
In todays world, where the dangers of misguided and cruel actions
rooted in faith have already resulted in things like 9/11, I wonder
why a show like that is eve written. What could the creator be
thinking? I know that "Supernatural" has a very small, but very
devoted fan base, and that they are known for cyber bullying, and
other menacing activity already. Its totally no wonder with a show
that teaches you that killing anything different then you is the best
way to be, and thats what God would want. But believe me, that is NOT
what God would want. Not the Christian God, anyhow.
